Company Names are very interesting… They can be initials of a person, the last names of the partners, a name based on mythology, an everyday food, description of the service or product, an abbreviation or a combination of any of these.

Back in October 2011, I remember writing down on a legal pad all the reasons why I wanted to create my tech company, everything from providing solutions that were easy to use, streamlining processes, improving everyday tasks. Then, I challenged myself to find single words that would describe the company…

That’s when I began to write down words such as “advance, future, forward, movement, progress” and many others. A few days had gone by and like a bolt of lightning another idea hit me…how about I search for a word in a language other than English that meant progress/advancement. A word that would be the beginning of the company…

Well wouldn’t you know, within a few short minutes of searching online, I found on page 124 in the book titled “Research In The Social Scientific Study of Religion,” by David Moberg and D.O. Moberg the following where it states, “The concept of ‘asenso’ evokes the images of improvement, progress, or advancement.”

BINGO! I found the starting point of the company name…

The cool thing about the word “asenso” is that is begins with the letter “A,” which was a bonus because it is the first letter in the alphabet which means that my company would be on the top of the list. “A” also signifies being the highest rank and best in terms of quality.

The company name was coming together now but something was still missing. I wanted to incorporate technology in the name. So words like “computer, digital, tech, techs,” came to mind. I begin to combine the words…” AsensoComp, AsensoTech, AsenTech…”

The name “AsenTech” was really close. Then I thought, “Well we will be delivering various types of technologies, so why not incorporate the word technologies?”

That was definitely too long of a word. So like I normally do when faced with a decision, I stopped working on it and let my mind wander off. If you didn’t already know, this is when your mind does its best work.

Sure enough, within a few minutes the word “tex” came to mind which is short for technologies…

I felt the name was near and as I thought about it more, the word “tex” was perfect because the crazy part is that I was born in the state of Texas. So the word “tex” made even more sense…

Now, when you combine the words “asenso” with “tex”, that my friends is how the name “Asentex” came to be…

It is truly amazing how things work out when you allow them to.
